Liina Siib views Paul Kuimet’s debut exhibition about urban sprawl

Paul Kuimet’s first personal exhibition at Hobusepea Gallery displays photographs primarily of private residences in the countryside near the city. These are locations on the edges of Tallinn that he remembers from childhood. According to statistics, most of the inhabitants of these new residential areas are middle-class Estonians who either work in the city centre or on the other side of the city. Paul Kuimet is one of the first local artists to have focused attention on the subject of urban sprawl.
